• There can be 3 ways of dealing with emotions – self-awareness, over passionate, indifferent.

• Self-awareness is to see the emotions as they rise. Knowing the emotions that we are feeling at the moment help us to witness our emotions and be reflective on same even in turbulent situations.

• Being over passionate makes us too engulfed in the emotional turbulence; too gloomy in sadness and over excited in happiness.

• Indifference makes us colorless and bland. Such people feel emotional blankness and usually lag to give words to their emotions. Alexithymia is the term used for defining the situation.

• At times we focus on suppressing our negative emotions; however, the need is not to suppress but to analyze and work on cause. Every feeling that arises has value and significance.

• Emergence of emotions is not totally in our hands; however, the way we behave during this period and how long this continues can have some say from our side if we follow the witness mode.

• Once we are in anger mode, feeling the rage of frustration; our reaction to usual things can also be in hyper mode. Anger builds on anger.

• Bringing some intervention at that time like deep breathing, muscle relaxation or moving away from the situation can balm the anger and help in cooling down.

• Giving a more holistic view to the overall situation can help us to come out of the worrisome situation.

• In the negative emotions we tend to draw ourselves aloof and bring on melancholy. However, ideally in such situations we should be more involved with other people and sharing our feelings.

• People who has better control on their impulses are always able to perceive the inter personal relations in better way.

• Optimism and good mood always enhances the performance in intellectual and interpersonal areas.

• We are born with high empathy quotient. We can see one child starts crying as soon as he sees another child crying or someone adult with foul impressions.

• Over the years of growth, they observe how the adults behave to other people’s feelings and start adjusting their reaction to others feelings.

• When we are calm and receptive, then we can be empathic as we can feel the subtle emotional signals from people around us.

• We naturally transmit and catch moods; in which some encounters are toxic, others nourishing.

• We send emotional signals in each encounter; short or long, formal or informal.

• People who are able to be themselves in difficult and challenging times have the winning edge in being the emotional champions in interpersonal relations.
