What is spirituality to me? Spirituality is my answer to the chaos of life. It helps me to stay in the middle of all action without going disarray. Being spiritual guides me to connect with myself. It helps me to become mindful of what is going inside me.
When I am more aware of the dynamics in my spirit and mind, I can be more in observer mode. It keeps me in control to make a choice rather than getting driven by circumstances. I still cannot claim that this is a regular mode but at least I know when I am slipping and can get back.
Situations in life change and they test us constantly. Being spiritual helps to become less attached with the results and impacts of changes around me. Though becoming completely detached with the results of action is not that easy but yet with spirituality I do not get over-attached.
It helps me to look for answers within than from others around. It is not like the people in our life cannot guide us. However, what matters to me can be understood best by me only. It empowers me to become responsible for my happiness rather than depending on others for it.
Spirituality reminds me to keep introspecting and improving. It keeps me humble with reminder of the wholeness around. The part can never be greater than whole and its value lies in being part of the whole. It saves me from wasting my energy in pride over random works. At the same time, it keeps me enthusiastic to learn and grow. It guides me to sincerity and diligence to my work.
Spirituality is daily dose of serenity in life. Staying away from it for some time creates a chaos in mind and I start feeling unsettled.
