There are so many things that I want to do. Things like exercise, reading more, writing more and many others. However, at times these are more of a wishlist than the actual action items. The reason for not doing these is not lack of intention. There are many other reasons, like time. Mostly I feel the main reason is time.
Did you just think, “Ahh!!! The usual excuse”. Well, you can say so. Mostly we feel the dearth of time when we are not able to do something. For me I know, my time is consumed by 2 types of activities. First, the things that must be done, like official work, house chores; the responsibility stuff. Then there are things that I do because they are easy to do like scrolling social media, watching some content online. The usual time spent online because the phone was lying beside me.
These are the auto activities. These activities are not planned, not needed also at times. These activities are not chosen but somehow become our default choice. When I plan utilization of my time, the list is creative and has variety. The action at times lacks due to selection of the easy way out, the default mode.
Whenever I have interim sincerity attacks, I am able to do most of the activities that are part of my wishlist. The day has same 24 hours, but what differs is my mindfulness. Being thoughtful about the activities at any time, keeps a tab on the way we are spending our time.
For example, today I was just watching some random stuff on the tube. After some time, when I realized it was too much time, I started looking for other options. I remembered about checking today’s topic on the “Daily writing prompt”.
And soon I was drafting the post for today. It helped me to break the jinx of not writing for last 4 days. So, the idea is that we may have lot of things that we want to do. To be able to do these things, we have to be more mindful about our time utilization.
If we do not choose to be thoughtful, the default items will keep taking our time. We will only crib about the long wishlist. It’s time to take the control and move the wishlist items to the action item.
